Windows 8 has been a headache for many; especially because
of the missing Start button. The free update Windows 8.1 -- codenamed Windows
Blue – is now available as a beta version download until the final release of
Windows 8.1 comes out later this year. Microsoft has a video about Windows 8.1

In case you don’t like to read the FAQs, Microsoft warns
that downloading the beta version of the Windows 8.1 free update to Windows 8
is more for experienced users.
Watching the Windows 8.1 preview is worth the time though to
see that Microsoft listened to the many complaints about Windows 8.
Windows 8.1 has a
few more improved features:
Personalization: Windows 8.1 allows users to personalize the
Start screen more with new colors, backgrounds, photos, and layout.
Start button: In Windows 8.1, Microsoft brought back the
Start button on the left side of the screen to go to Control Panel settings,
open the Task Manager, perform a search, and other useful system tools like it
used to be in Windows 7.
